Long neglected, but not for much longer!

I’ve been exceedingly busy in my last year of school, so this blog has fallen to the wayside. Stay tuned as I update my works and my status.

Thanks!

Rhythm action

I was tooling around on my computer doing some programming in XNA, and I managed to bang out a small game, using both the Rockband Drums and a Guitar Hero controller, its cool to see where this could go.

Good things from the internet

Check out Dr. Horrible. Its a couple web shows about a low level Super villain, Dr. Horrible, and his Nemesis Captain Hammer(not his fists). It’s funny, with names with a bunch of cult appeal, Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion and Neal Patric Harris. It was a joke thing made during the writers strike. The recognition for it is because with its ‘low budget’, a ‘modest’ 6 figures, it will be able to make money only charging 2 bucks an episode. I guess it seems a little weird, Internet humour weirdness coupled with bigger name connections. I couldn’t help but be reminded of Sockbaby

http://rodent.tee-total.net/

This site has some real sweet gamer tees, I really like the more subtle ones, like the Shadow of the Colossus one. Its too bad that it is so expensive. The other one I thought was funny was the Giant Enemy Crab! one, what a hilarious mistake on Sony’s part.

Mega Man nine ‘box art’

How insane is that? I guess they are really trying cash in on the nostalgia. I’m glad. I love new and flashy graphics, but I do love pixel style too, probably more. I think that the popularity of the DS and legal downloads on consoles have helped usher in older but still fun styles. Trailer

Duke Nukem Trailer!

Is it just me or does that play like a bad wrestling promo. I don’t remember any of the Duke Nukem cash grab side projects being awesome. I hope that it works out. I would like to See Duke Nukem Forever before the decade is out.

Ikariam

As real-real time web based stragity games go, this is one of my favorites, and I’ve played a couple. I really like how slick the interface is, and how much you can actually do. The combat is simple and effective, I’ve pried so much cash out of the lesser towns on my island, its sweet.

Join up on Iota, maybe we can ally up!

Noitu Love

This series of games is pretty good. They have a real throwback to the 8/16bit eras. Its got a real strong combo system, give the first one a try before the second one’s demo though, so you can feel the progression.

The first, very megaman, its quicker then double dragon, and its a hell of a lot of fun, the evolution stuff is funky too.

Noitu Love 2
The figgin’ huge bosses are really cool in this, and the art is fantastic, I wish there were super Nintendo Platformers as fun as this.
